I could tell the author was used to writing screenplays as the novel often read better as a movie, when the scenes can change without much description.From the start of the book we are introduced to a quite a number of different characters whether they be victims, police or family and for me it did become a bit of an overload of information , however that being said, the plot carried the story along nicely.
