Yesterday on Facebook, I came across an article from The Wall Street Journal (I didn’t add the link cause it’s not free to read the whole article and I know how y’all are) about a woman who sat out of the workforce for two years and came back to end up CEO.Apparently, her story is supposed to inspire the rest of us. Deanna M. Mulligan is Chief Executive Officer of The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian) and is a member of the Company’s Board of Directors. Instead, we get bombarded with questions about what we’ve been doing the last two years and statements that express doubt about whether or not we are capable of performing the job tasks adequately.
