Best regards. Did some googling and now lo and behold I’m trying to replace the power supply with a better one, but the screws seem kinda weird on the shroud. I have just bought a Phanteks Enthoo Pro, my first case which comes with a power supply shroud.

And if so why on Earth would they not put a grille in the top of it?I have the exact same case, or at least almost exact -you didn't specify if yours is the tempered glass model- so let me comment on this.The shroud is there purely for decoration. Trust. I personally quite like the looks of it, and it doesn't really do anything to harm airflow in my testing. Based on some video reviews I've seen, it looks like this is the situation in at least several other cases and isn't unique to this particular design.If the intention is to use this air for the benefit of the PSU itself, then I don't see the need. (Oled screen on the PSU wont be available if placed fans down) ... And if we really care about getting more air to the PSU, wouldn't it be better to remove the shroud so it's not being boxed in by a solid piece of metal to begin with?This looks to me like a major design flaw, but the fact that so many manufacturers are doing it is making me think I must be missing something, unless the quest for aesthetics is truly trumping everything else.

I was given a Phanteks Evolv X after I bought my PSU, the Asus rog thor for my new build.The Evolv X features a psu shroud, and the PSU is meant to be placed with the fan upwards as an exhaust. The problem seems to me that a large part of the airflow directed in from that bottom fan and from the front fans will flow under the top of the shroud, get caught inside it, and then get pushed out of the bottom of the case again, never reaching the main chamber where it'll actually be needed.

shrouds will be vented so air can pass through from the shroud to the rest of the pc but i guess the enthoo pro doesn'tit doesn't look like it would impact airflow that badly though since it's a considerable distance away from the front fans i guessPlanning on building a computer but need some advice? The PSU has its own intake fan and exhaust grille, and neither of its two sides which face into the case seem to be designed to benefit from any additional airflow.
